Fungua (foon-goo-ah) means "open" or "unlock" in Swahili. We built Fungua because too many college-bound students miss out on funding they actually qualify for — not because they aren't talented, but because verified, personalized information is scattered and hard to find. Although Fungua has an HBCU focus any student can benefit.
Fungua brings it all together: a directory of all 98 federally recognized HBCUs, AI-powered matching for any scholarship or grant that can help pay for your education — HBCU-specific, general, merit-based, need-based, and more — application tracking, and AI mock interview practice, all in one free platform.
